Applications are now open for young social innovators from any part of the world to apply for the Daiai Lama Fellowship Programme for Social Innovators 2023. Daiai Lama Fellowship Programme is a one year programme for young social innovators to meet global challenges in locally adapted ways, it is designed to help young innovators cultivate self awareness, personal sustainability and compassion. With the support of mentors and coaches, innovators implements an original field project addressing a local challenge and learns how to combine their transformation with the transformation of the communities with which they are engaging.

Eligibility Criteria for the Daiai Lama Fellowship Programme
To be eligible for the Daiai Lama Fellowship Programme
- Candidates must be 20 – 35 years old as of July 1 2023.
- Applicants must demonstrate fluency in spoken and written English Language.
- Must have an extensive knowledge of the community and issue his/her project is situated to address. Applicants must have at least one year working experience in the community.
- Must have the zeal to learn and engage in contemplative practices throughout duration of study.
- Interested candidates should have the commitment to participate in all dimensions of the programme for example online learning platform, 1-on-1 coaching calls, group learning calls, etc.
- Should have current engagement with or well-articulated plans for a social change project and sustained engagement with the project throughout the fellowship year.
Important details for Application Process
The application for the Dalai Lama Fellowship programme consists of five main parts:
- Background and overview of interested scholar
- Short essay questions
- Video submission
- Resume/ CV
- Letter of recommendation.
Key Dates:
Application Time for the Dalai Lama Fellowship programme.
- October 19th 2022: Application portal opens
- December 1st 2022: Application deadline (applications and all accompanying materials must be submitted by 22:00 Coordinated Universal Time)
- February _ March 2023: Awarded fellows are selected and notified.
- March-June 2023: Virtual on boarding of new Fellows.
- July-August 2023: 5-day Contemplative Leadership Assembly in United States.
- July 2023_ June 2024: Formal fellowship year (online curriculum, coaching calls, group learning calls, project implementation in local communities)
- July 2024 and Beyond: Fellows complete program and enter Lifelong Fellows global leadership and learning community
Attendance at the Contemplative Leadership Assembly in late July 2023 (Dalai Lama Fellowship programme will cover all costs for travel, lodging, and meals for the Assembly).
Note: Full participation in the fellowship requires about 12 hours per month, not including Fellows’ work on their projects.
